Shipping and Returns Policy

Freight Policy

Freight charges must be secured in advance of shipment. When shipping, Mai Thai Exports must have your exact street address, postal code for Canada and zip code for the United States, along with your daytime contact information. Orders will be shipped by UPS and orders can be tracked through our website or by following links we will send with your shipping confirmation.

Orders generally ship 7-10 days after your payment is received and credited to Mai Thai Exports. Exceptions may be noted for specific products. When your order is shipped, Mai Thai Exports will send you an email containing the carrier's package tracking number for your shipment, along with a link to the carrier's website. Use this tracking number to follow the progress of your package in transit and plan for its arrival.

Shipping cost is calculated for individual orders. You may have the opportunity to select between shipping methods. All orders are sent by air express, unless you wish to arrange alternative shipping via your own carrier. We calculate the actual weight and dimensional weight of your order.

The shipping cost that you pay is for carrier and FOB charges only. All products are sold FOB Thailand when you ship via one of our carriers, or ex-factory if you instruct us to use an alternative carrier. Therefore, depending on your location, you may be responsible for the payment of import duty and/or customs clearing charges based upon the value of the goods you have purchased. The air express carrier will bill you for these charges separately. All applicable local taxes will be payable of receipt of shipment through the carrier or a customs clearing office. Local sales taxes are not collected by Mai Thai Exports unless the order is received directly through a sales representative. DO NOT PAY Mai Thai Exports for any costs billed to you by the carrier.

For shipments via our carriers, Mai Thai Exports will arrange the required import documents in advance of shipment, at no extra cost to you. If we send a shipment via your specified carrier, we will arrange the required documents with your carrier, but you will be responsible for all non-government charges (usually, your carrier's document service charges). Also, if we send a shipment via your specified carrier, it will be your responsibility to arrange for clearing formalities with your carrier on the destination side.

Freight Claims

Merchandise received short or damaged should be noted on delivery and Mai Thai Exports should be informed immediately. All freight claims must be initiated by the consignee. Mai Thai Exports will assist when requested. Inspection of material by carriers should be requested immediately and material held until inspection report has been issued and disposition has been determined by the carrier.

Return Policy

Mai Thai Exports sells selected hand-crafted, home-made, and otherwise "not from a big factory" articles. Therefore, variation in color, size, finish, and workmanship is to be expected - actually, that's part of the beauty of our products! At the same time, your satisfaction is our highest concern.

Should you be unhappy with any article for any reason, just ship it back to us for replacement within 7 days of receipt (should the article no longer be available, we will offer you a choice of substitute products of similar or superior price or quality). When quality error has been accepted by Mai Thai Exports, return freight routing will be specified and paid for by Mai Thai Exports. Where goods are considered saleable, goods are to be returned prepaid and accounts assessed a 30% restocking and handling charge.

After the 7 day period, return of merchandise will be considered within a 30 day period from receipt. Goods are to be returned prepaid. For those goods found to be saleable, credit authorization will be considered less a 30% restocking and handling charge.

Limitation of Liability

All prices, sales policies and conditions are subject to change without notice. Mai Thai Exports warrants to the buyer, and only the buyer, that goods will be produced within our normally accepted tolerances for these hand crafted products or the buyer’s specifications for special orders. In no case will Mai Thai Exports' liability exceed the actual cost for the goods.
